Back To Work

One problem with 99% of all blogs on the internet is that the writers assume that someone actually wants to read about their lives. I always thought that many people might like to read about the poker aspect of my life (and I turned out to be more correct than I could ever have imagined) since it is unusual. Everyone knows some doctors, lawyers, plumbers, etc. but few people really have any insight into the day to day life of a professional poker player. Other than that aspect of my life I have never been under any sort of misconception that my readers really care about what I ate for breakfast, what the cashier said to me at the grocery store yesterday, or what I think about a bunch of political issues about which I know next to nothing.
So for the last week while I was taking time off of poker and trying to get the game completely off of my mind (which I succeeded at for maybe 3 days and thank God for them) I didn’t really bother to post any of my musings here. Sure I could have told you all about my adventures in moving over the last week (which was about as fun as a root canal) or about my trip down the highway with a 57” Toshiba Widescreen HDTV loosely secured to the gate of a small pickup (a story funny enough to maybe make the cut on my other blog). But I didn't, because you don’t care and I know it.
I did however mix in the very occasional product review because I am addicted to electronics, and I actually got a few people commenting and/or emailing me about the few I mentioned earlier. Also I may slap a picture on here of the new home theater system so y’all can see where I will be doing most of my Party Pokering from. I have to fix up my PC since the video card in my laptop sucks and looks terrible when connected. I also have to get my Gyration long range wireless mouse from the FedEx facility at some time.
Now I am easing back into poker. August is going to be a busy month on the poker front, as I plan on doing a lot of internet poker. July ended up being my first losing month, down maybe 1k or so, but I only played half as many hours as I do in a normal month and most of them were in tournaments (almost all in fact) so I am not too upset about it. I am sure August will go much better. So expect more frequent posting once again.
