Blog Value
A reader tipped my off to this site which claims my blog is worth $67,180.26. Anyone looking to purchase a blog?

I typed in a friends website and the figure came to $1.6 million. Crazy thing is that it might be accurate.

It's fun putting in random websites like cnn.com and yahoo.com as well. However, doing that clearly shows the inaccuracies.

I dunno, it says Google is worth less than a hundred million. http://tinyurl.com/douvv
Also, I find it bizarre that Paul Phillips' blog is listed as worthless. http://tinyurl.com/bnj7p

I was only suggesting it might be accurate for that one site. The way it's calculating the value is simply by somehow coming up with a value for the links.

It's based on link value. I think they got that by taking the amount of money AOL bought Weblogs Inc for and dividing by the number of links to Weblogs Inc sites.

Also any site that doesn't have its own domain comes up as worthless I think. Any blogspot, typepad, or in Paul's case livejournal.

His own site is valued at $6mn. I have a feeling that he writes code for poker bot software in his spare time.
