P.S.
I think my new favorite saying, taken from Chris Mistler's response email (which you can see in the comments of my "Funny Email" post):
I hope you BAD LUCK and you loose everythingI'm definitely telling people that from now on when they bad beat me. That one is almost on par with "YOU ARE TAKER"

[I started following Matt’s Play Poker, Live Large plan in September, 2005. With Matt’s permission, I’m posting updates on my progress.]
Play Poker, Live Large: B&M Casino
I spent some time at a B&M casino checking out the games.
20/40 is not bad. Not bad at all. It’s not tight. And it’s not aggressive. In fact it’s so passive that just like in Party 0.5/1 a raise on the turn almost always means better than TPTK.
What amazed me the most, however, were the NL games. On one table, the highest limit they had, I saw the following two hands within a one hour period:
(1) Two players go at it preflop. Raise. Re-raise. Re-re-raise. All-in. Call. The player who called had AQs. I would love to know what he was thinking. The final pot was over $3K.
(2) Two players in the pot on the turn. Board has three hearts and a straight opportunity. First player bets. Second player thinks for a long time and appears to make a reluctant call. River comes out and first player immediately turns over his cards. He has two pair. Second player says ‘I’m going to bet’ and puts $100 into a ~$600 pot. First player folds. Second player shows a flush (possibly a straight flush). Wow. What would you have done in this situation? Obviously the first player can only fold or call after showing his cards face up. How much would you bet if you were the second player and were ahead? Behind? When would you call or fold as the first player? Very interesting situation.
I’m behind in Party 1/2 but not too badly. However, if I drop 200 BB I’ll go back to 0.5/1.
